Directions from Croydon

The directions below bring you into Sutton on Carshalton Road, about 2/3 of way down map on right.

From Croydon follow the signs to Sutton.
These will take you through Carshalton.
Keep following the signs to Sutton until you see a BP garage on your left at the bottom of a slight hill. There will also be a few antique type shops on the left, and about half a mile further on the 'Nightingale' pub on your right.

The route now varies, depending on which venue you are going to:

For the Thomas Wall Centre:

Take the right hand turn just before the Nightingale pub, i.e. Lind Road.
Follow this right to the bottom of the hill, where you will come to a very odd figure-of-eight roundabout.
You need to take the 2nd exit, which is Benhill Avenue, i.e. diagonally across the 2 roundabouts, slightly left.
Follow this road until you see some blocks of Council Flats on your right hand side. The Thomas Wall Centre is directly opposite these. It is a large Victorian red-stone building, that looks like it used to be a school (though it wasn't).
There is a car park in front of the building. The entrance is at the far end of the Centre, in the side road that runs up to your left between the Centre and the Conservative Club, i.e. Lenham Road.
Classes will usually be held in Room 14 (a notice will be posted, if otherwise). Go in the front entrance arch, turn into the door on your right and then turn left and through some more doors. Room 14 is just inside on the left.

For the Girl Guide Centre:

You will see the Sutton Martial Arts Centre (white and red building) on your right, and the huge new B&Q superstore being built on your right, and then swing into the one-way system.
You will join it in the left hand lane. However, by the time you meet the first set of lights you need to be in the right hand lane (when busy this is a nightmare, as everyone is trying to swap lanes!)
At these first lights, go straight on and ensure you are in the right hand lane. You will go along a road and then swing right down a hill to some more lights.
At these lights, ensure you are in the left hand lane of the two lanes turning right (i.e. the middle lane).
Directly ahead of you will be the Sutton Civic Offices & Library.
Take the first turning on the left (Gibson Rd), just after the bus layby and before another church - it's a small road, easily missed.
Take the first on the right - around the back of the church and in front of the multi-storey carpark - and keep straight on.
The Robin Hood Pub is on the right and the small road just past it on the right is where the Girl Guide HQ is. There’s a small carpark, and overflow can go on street.
