Sutton Shiatsu Practice
& Support Group - Venue Directions
Directions from M25, J9
The directions below bring you into Sutton on Cheam Road, about 2/3 of way down map on left.
- From M25 take Junction 9, signposted Leatherhead.
Once you get off the motorway, Sutton is signposted on all the roundabouts,
so just follow the signs basically. It'll take you through Epsom towncentre and then
Cheam centre.
- You can recognise Cheam by an extremely big right hand bend followed by a large park
on the left just prior to the village - lots of nice big trees on the left of the road and
no houses.
- Cheam has a traffic lighted crossroads with a Lloyds Bank on your left and a pub
called The Harrow diagonally opposite you on the right. At these lights go straight on.
- There will be another set of lights a few hundred yards further on, which are at junction
with a main dual carriageway (A217). Again go straight across.
- You will follow road into Sutton, and after about a mile you will pass on your left in
close succession, the Secombe Centre theatre, the Holiday Inn hotel and the Library/Civic
Offices. There will be traffic lights outside the latter and traffic filtering in from your
right.
- After these lights you want to take the first left (signposed Rosehill and probably London)
past a very large church - the junction is rather odd as it has a pink coloured tarmac buslane
and a traffic island in the middle of it. This road (St Nicholas Way) goes steeply down a hill
and has either 2 or 3 lanes depending on how far down you go.
The route now varies, depending on which venue you are going to:
For the Girl Guide Centre:
- Take the first turning on the left (Gibson Rd), just after the bus layby and before another church - it's a small road, easily missed.
- Take the first on the right - around the back of the church and in front of the multi-storey carpark - and keep straight on.
- The Robin Hood Pub is on the right and the small road just past it on the right is
where the Girl Guide HQ is. There’s a small carpark, and overflow can go on street.
For the Thomas Wall Centre:
- Keep straight on down the hill; when you get to the big right hand bend at the bottom of the hill, you need to be in the right hand lane.
- The one-way system will now take you in a basically circular loop, around the town.
- So, go through the set of traffic lights around the right hand bend, looping left again past Matalan, Perfect Pizza and Majestic Wine.
- Once around the next right-hand bend, you need to be in the left-hand lane to take a left-hand filter lane at
the next set of lights, which goes into Benhill Avenue.
- The Thomas Wall Centre is not very far on your right hand side. You will see the Conserative Club on your right, and the Thomas Wall
Centre is the next building on the right.
- Classes will usually be held in Room 14 (a notice will be posted, if otherwise).
Go in the front entrance arch, turn into the door on your right and then turn left and through
some more doors. Room 14 is just inside on the left.
